Some may wonder...Is there such a voter as a Hispanic Conservative?  I know they exist, I am one.  The problem I see with this statement is that being a person adhering to conservative values is not dependent on, or has any relevancy with ones race or ethnicity.  It has to do with your beliefs and the values you hold true as an individual.  This is a concept that seems to escape Congress, along with the concept of the Latino vote. (which I will address in a future posting) 

The fact that Congress seems to be disconnected from the real world only compounds this issue to a point where it seems almost ridiculous.  The pandering I saw  from both parties during the past elections was embarrassing and humiliating.  Those attempts at throwing a Spanish phrase hear and there were the worse.  All they have to do is publicly define where they stand on fiscal and social issues and that covers most of it.  Tell us who you really are, what you stand for and what values you will live by in your execution of duties as a member of Congress or the executive office.  With this in mind, voters can immediately get an idea where the politician will stand on most issues.  Beyond that, all the extra talk and details are just noise.  KEEP IT SIMPLE!
 
Being a true conservative  defines a lot in itself.  You do not need to repeat it in bad Spanish.  There is no such thing as a Hispanic or Latino version of conservative values. The values are the same, and this was clearly demonstrated during the same sex marriage amendment defeat in California.  We need a new wave of conservative congress members that first of all, will not follow the present "Culture of Corruption" and second will articulate their conservative values to all Americans in the same manner.  You are either a conservative or not, being white, brown, black, or blue has nothing to do with these values.  I have the same issue with integrity, either you have it or you don't.  No amount of ethical training is going to change a person if they desire to be unethical.  We need to elect real conservative politicians that act like conservatives and proudly stand by their values, then their fellow "Americans" white or Hispanic who share those values will support them.
